OCEANUS SWIM PRESENTS ‘HOUSE OF DUCKIE’ by DANIEL SACHON
THE IDEA
The swimwear brand Oceanus has just launched its “House of Duckie” collection, whose campaign embodies the supermodel Duckie Hot. In addition to the glamorous swimsuits and clothing line, the proposal includes jewellery pieces and accessories such as toiletry bags or socks. Although its catalog covers all kinds of garments for the female closet, if Oceanus is known for something it is for its luxurious swimwear full of color and shine.
THE PROCESS
The London-based brand launched Casa del Duckie, a collection inspired by the glamour of the 1980s whose campaign stars supermodel Duckie Thot. With a retro-style mansion as a backdrop location, the Sudanese-Australian model poses with some of the most outstanding pieces of the proposal surrounded by over the top sets and kitsch props, all shot by Daniel Sachon. Among them stand out the triangle bikinis adorned with Swarovski crystals or the two-piece sets made of velvet. But there are not only swimsuits in Casa del Dukie. We also find activewear clothing that stays true to the eighties glamour and accessories such as socks, toiletry bags or reusable masks that are covered with glitter and fantasy for the occasion.
THE OUTCOME
A series of photographic campaign released worldwide to support the launch of the collection. “The ‘Casa Del Duckie’ campaign is a heightened version of reality. With the world being turned upside down over the last year’s Covid, I wanted to create a collection which showed the at-home world in a glam, unapologetic way which is inspired by the mystique of the late 1980s and 1990s,” Oceanus founder Hannah Attalah explains to HYPEBAE. “We partnered with Duckie as she represents everything the brand signifies: strength, glam, women’s empowerment and a boss woman attitude. She is a mob boss,” Attalah adds.
