PRETTYLITTLETHING x TEYANA TAYLOR AT NYFW
THE IDEA
We worked closely alongside, US Creative Director of Prettylittlething, Teyana Taylor, to debut her first collection at the brand’s New York Fashion Week runway show. The event, held at Gotham Hall, featured gender neutral streetwear looks for all body types.
THE PROCESS
Taking inspiration from Teyana’s Harlem roots we transformed the venue, an old banking hall in Midtown, by creating a New York subway set. Recreating the hustle and bustle of New York City, the show took the audience on a —literal— subway ride. Rapper Lil Durk opened the show performing some of his hits with Drake, “Laugh Later.” We also worked closely with Ciroc to create to some cool branded moments, signature cocktails and breakout spaces throughout the event.
THE OUTCOME
Talking to Ebony Magazine, Teyana expressed: “I’ve been working on this second collection with PrettyLittleThing for months and I’m so excited to bring this to life at New York Fashion Week this season," She added "It’s so important to me as Creative Director for the USA that I work with a team who truly understands my vision and we’re catering for EVERYBODY. You’re going to see male models walking for the very first time as we showcase this unisex collection and reintroduce kidswear alongside some familiar faces on the catwalk." Models included rapper Maliibu Mitch and celebrity hairstylist Tokyo Stylez. A host of celebrities attended the runway show, including Chanel Iman, Iman Shumpert, LaLa Anthony, Swae Lee, Joe Budden, Shaun Ross, and more. There was also a performance by Lil' Durk.
